Wednesday evening oasis of creative calm...
Swallows figured one evening...
Since moving to Brancepeth a year ago, I have enjoyed village life. It feels like coming home.
One of the many benefits has been a regular Wednesday evening spent in the Village Hall with a handful of local artists. We set up our easels or spread our current projects over old card tables. I love the creative ebb and flow of chat, banter and silent focus, broken only by a break for coffee and crisps (whatever's on special offer at the Coop). Then we resume, ending with a "What have you been busy with tonight?" show-and-tell session before heading home, promising ourselves that we'll do more art in the intervening seven days.
It's two hours of artistic bliss; an oasis of paint and pootling. And there's always an end result, even if we are always more ready to praise our fellow artists than we are our own efforts!
The best of the 'Brancepeth Bubble'.
